Last week Gilly, from Eurobodalla Shire Council, came to our classroom to talk about recycling. We learnt that you can't put little bottle tops in the recycling bin because they can go through the holes. YOu can't put smashed glass but you can put a full glass bottle in.
Gilly showed us a video about recycling and going to thee "Merf." The video showed the workmen throwing the waste into the right sections. We learnt a lot and it was really fun. We hope Gilly comes back again soon. From Maya and Michaela Congratulations to more great readers in 2F. Some students are really accelerating through the Home Reader Awards. Keep enjoying your reading everyone! Wow Maya - amazing effort. It's obvious how much you enjoy reading. Well done!
On National Tree Day the whole school started some gardens.
Year 2 made a garden near Year 1 classrooms. It kept growing because we watered it but now it's growing weeds! Now we've started to weed it. It takes more than a day - probably takes 2 weeks to grow and we've had lots of rain. We are going to put some more native plants in the garden. By Matilda and Shanyka On Friday the 14th of November we had our school walkathon. It was a beautifully sunny day.
We walked from our school to the Broulee Surf Club. It was a long walk but it was a really fun time. Kindergarten to Year 2 walked 2 kilometres and the Year 3 to Year 6 students walked 4 kilometres. Some parents and others walked with us and some of them met us at the Broulee Surf Club. After our walk we got a treat which was a Zooper Dooper. Then we sang a song, called "Let It Play," to all of the visitors. We all had a wonderful day. We hope there is a Walkathon next year that's just as much fun as this year's one. By Maya and Michaela Here are some photos from our practice session but we were all having such a good time there are not many.
